My good mate Mr Paul Davies, who insists that he,s not a “Spotter” was
sitting in his car with others on Weds morning of this week at the BBMF
fence area at Coningsby when he had the tap on the window. Turned out
it was BBC Radio Lincolnshire, asking the question would he support the
Vulcan coming back to Lincolnshire ?, to which Paul said yes. I don’t know
who’s come up with this one, but has anyone heard or been contacted
about this. LLA or Mod or just wishful thinking by the Rate-payers of
Lincolnshire. Funny is it not, now that Marshells and the Vulcan crew have
done the hard graft, that all of a sudden they would like it in their back yard.
Pity that it was not but back together in a Lincolshire hanger in the first
Place, say maybe next door to HHA gaff, and they could take turns to make
the tea.
Has anyone heard anything on this before I contact BBC Radio Lincolnshire
to see if Paul “Chester” Davies has not got it wrapped round his head ?.
JJ.

XH558 is going for air test No 2 this week I thought. Not sure how the weather will play on this though.
Lucky Lucky Waddington!

Oh Flipflopman…..
The rumor of her going up North is try as far as compass swing at Waddington. There is rumblings of her leaving brunty for a Lincolnshire Base as currently there is no full time dedicated fire coverage at Brunty and they have to have fire protection arrive everytime they want to operate the vulcan. There is talk about this on one of the other forums. But I will see if Flipflopman can add anything…

Right now it’s a load of old piffle lol 😉 😀
She’s only going for maybe a day to sort out the compass, then she’ll be housed at Brunty.
Wish I’d been at coningsby a bit earlyer lol we were there about 2ish lol what a shame 😀 .
Hmmm i’m gonna have to start listening to radio Lincolnshire in future, see what they’re up too, I normaly have lincsFM on.

I thought 558 was going to Waddington to be housed for a while, or is that a load of old piffle?

May they be getting mixed up with her planned trip to Waddington for compass swing tests?.

John.

What are you actually asking? The aircraft’s last flight was into Bruntingthorpe – decidedly in Leicestershire . I am not aware of any groundswell of opinion that she needs to be back in Lincolnshire!
I think it’s a light hearted question from a radio programme short of things to talk about!
