Vulcan sim add on

Have teh Vulcan add of for my Flight sim 2004, was wondering if anyone else has the same problem as me. Worst is that it over speeds at 350 Nts have look through the flight notes from the vulcan and this is almost double that on the real one. I know its what its grafted onto but still its a real pain trying to bleed of teh airspeed after take off, also cant get any ajustment in altitude once its trimed when you open or close the throttles.

Well, I don’t know but I have now tried flying using the Machmetre and I have now had a few far more successful flights. No overspeeding and more controlled landings although I still find it a difficult aircraft to fly, compared to many others. Like the real thing, perhaps it just takes a lot of practice!:)

Have you tried switching to Mach once above 250kts?
I havent read through my ATPL manuals for ages but im sure that above 250kts mach is normally used as I believe its more accurate to measure speed?

Err, I don’t think the Vulcan was designed for a Mach 2+ cruise…..:)

No, but its projected replacement (the Avro 730) was intended to. And that is the aircraft I was talking about. It didn’t seem worth starting a separate thread for my question, and this thread is likely to attact ‘bomber-sim’ enthusiasts perhaps able to cast light into my darkness.

Almost a decade ago, I remember buying the Microsoft flight sim (version 98 I think) plus an addon pack of RAF aircraft.

One of the latter was the Avro 730, but my attempt to fly this was hopeless.

I didn’t expect to perform like a 21st century equivalent of Biggles, given that I last flew a real-world aircraft in the mid-1960s, but all my attempt to fly the Avro beast resulted in repeated ‘Overspeed’ warnings almost as soon as I’d left the runway. Getting on overspeed warning at a few hundred knots in an aircraft designed to cruise at Mach 2+ seemed amusing. I’ve always wondered what was overspeeding. The somewhat inadequate manual gave no clues.

Then it sounds as though we are missing a trick here, Blue, as you are flying without the same problems. I wonder what it is…………:(

I have and enjoy flying the Vulcan in fs 2004. Setting the autopilot is a bit of a pain, and is it just me missing something or do the landing lights only want to point straight down? Have I missed the deploy key for them or something? Overall its good though and can really be chucked around with a light fuel load, but I wish someone would do as good an add-on of a Victor K2…! 🙂

I fly the FSX version and it has the same problem. With a lot of patience you can get stable, steady flight but it is frustratingly difficult to fly – bit different from the real thing! You certainly cannot replicate the use of power control.
