Due to an unexpected and welcome donation of fuel by Southend Airport yesterday afternoon, Vulcan XL426 will be taxiing on both Sunday AND Monday. Admission is free and the taxi-runs will take place after the Typhoon lands each day at around 1700-ish.
If you want great photos and a nice day out, I can really recommend the Airport as a venue for the show.

In all honesty where would you all say is the best place at the airport and miss the displays or on the seafront surounded by thousands of chavs but you get to see the show

Not desperately busy – it’s quite civilised actually. In terms of aviation, it’s busy!

Thanks for the heads up on that, in relation to the seafront how busy does the airport get?

Most of the flying display participants for the airshow operate from the Airport.

Hi Paul
If you head for the car park, which is on the grass in the middle of the airfield, you will get a good howl regardless of the runway in use and you’ll only be 50 yards back from the runway. The layout is not quite as good as Wellesbourne but the central car park does improve things a great deal.

And how close to the mighty Vulcan do you get and is the mighty Vulcan heading towards you or running past you – need to know for the ‘howl’ factor.
