Vulcan weekend, routing now up with detailed maps showing turning points

Followed from take off right up to the run in and out of Coventry, expecting to see her at a distance fly over Warwick turning for Wellesbourne not a jot:(

NELSAM in the North East on Saturday in great weather…..

….then a bit of a drive, an overnight stay with a friend; and Duxford on Sunday in not so great weather!

Two days, two airfields, four V bombers, 8 hours driving and 524 miles clocked up.

Somewhat tired today!

I caught a glimpse as she went off track as she crossed the A12 in Essex I am guessing to avoid met, about 3 miles west of me in the clag.

Hats off to all involved having to deal with the weather and keeping on time, professionalism at its best.

Passed over me near White Notley at 14:18 bang on time!

A couple of nice passes at Southend, and it stopped raining just in time.

I got a good view as it flew over Watford. Shame the weather wasn’t as good as yesterday.

Just managed to capture the Vulcan as she flew her tribute to the Wyvern project ;).

Just managed to see it Sible Hedingham way,well wide of the proposed route mind.

“@XH558: #VForceTour Delighted to announce that Day 2 is going ahead as planned. Crew are now entering the aircraft to program GPS of full route.”

It’s raining here at Duxford but the forecast is for the front to pass through after mid-day.

Anyone have any updates on the weather ?
Last I saw was that the weather in the Doncaster area was clearing.

Doncaster Weather
A cloudy morning with outbreaks of rain at times. Rain may be locally heavy at first,
especially over hills. Rain clearing soon after midday, and becoming brighter through
the afternoon with some sunshine.

Looking good in the Southend area at the moment.

Well me and my wife went to Newark in our Ford Sierra XR4x4 2.9 V6 which is not quite a Mk 1 Escort as I sold my one last year,
The crowd was impressive and it was great the way Newark Air Museum directed the cars into the overspill car park field the poor bloke in the old RAFP uniform must have been roasting.
Lovely to see this beautiful aircraft doing a few passes and after the superb wing over it all went silent as she left us, quite emotional really.
I was glad to see the volunteer Newark museum marshallers had collection buckets on the way out and the one we passed had a large bundle of notes in his hand which we added our fiver to. cracking visit.
