She will look even better when she has all four tail pipes on and had all her flying surfaces re-skinned including her tail….gulp!

Windscreen & Jet-pipe covers

I plan to have two sets made up so there is always a spare! On another note to XL319, she now has her first of four brand new jet pipe covers attached. Hope the readers of this thread like the attached photo!!

you could do with a Polycarbonate layer in the frame first, and then a window behind, less the poly thickness.

New glass would be great but is there something that can be installed over it to act as a shield for flying items like golfballs and rocks etc?

Windscreens

Scott,

At work I can only manufacture flat glass pieces to origional spec. The curved plexi is a little harder and would be quite costly! This gold-fleck glass that has been mentioned is a type we currently have in stock so if I can get the drawings I can make up some new windscreens!!! As for the bomb-aimers windscreen, this too can be made up with multi-laminated glass.

Have never seen pics of the damage other than the smasked windows in the canopy.

peter..the bomb aimers window seems to be one of the more worse off ones on 319….the glass itself looks like it has moved, i noticed it was pretty much falling out…fingers crossed it doesnt

Sad news about the bombaimers window being broken as well! I had heard that the main windscreens were made with small gold fleck in the glass or something?

Vulcan needs specsavers

Hi there,

These will be the front three windscreens with the amber anti-reflective tint to them.

Which screen?, do you have a replacement for the rear crew window that was vandalised?.

Regards,

John.
