A friend of mine Ken Ward (I’m sure a few people will know of him) has just purchased Vulcan cockpit nose XH563 located at Bruntingthorpe.
Ken is looking to contact any aircrew or ground crew who worked with this machine in order to ascertain any information about it. In fact anyone with any information or photos about XH563 is welcome to contact him. Unfortunately Ken is not wired on the web so I can provide his details (telephone number and address) to anyone who PM’s me. Alternatively you can list what you know on this thread and I will print and forward the information on to him. The cockpit is incomplete and he will also be looking to purchase any interior parts if anyone has any for sale. Many Thanks on his behalf!

XH563Nose Cone
If further information is needed about XH563 then it might be useful to know that my father was the Crew Chief responsible for this aircraft from the day of its delivery to 83 squadron and or the subsequent 10years. He is now 86 but his memories of those days are still very clear. If you need to contact him then you could let me know.

I’ll find out about the tail turret for you, he was certainly restoring it last autumn but I haven’t heard much about it since.

I can add that It was once the gate guard (well airfield guard) at Scampton until the scrapman got his grubby hands on it.
all I can add at the moment.

Is it true that Ken Ward did buy the Boulton Paul Type E Halifax tailturret?
If so, any news on that?
Cheers
