Vulcan XM655 will be carrying out an Engine Ground Run (EGR) on the 16th. At approximately 13.30 you should be able to see XM655 burst back into life at Wellesbourne Mountford. As always this a is static ground run, but if the brakes need checking the aircraft will move. Crew for the EGR will be Sqdn Ldr (RAF Rtd) David Thomas, Sdqn Ldr (RAF Rtd) Barry Masefield and Wing Commander Mike Pollitt.
To view the EGR the best vantage point is from the Wellesbourne Saturday Market, parking is free and you can always have a look around the market prior to the EGR. This EGR is in preparation of the low and high power Taxi Runs which are scheduled for Sunday June 19th.

I can confirm that the Midlands branch of the Vulcan drag-racing fraternity always put on a good show!
We, the Essex ‘chav’ branch salute you!

Just received a promo flyer for this event, but never been before.
Aside from the obvious (a Vulcan breathing life !!), can anybody recommend it in terms of turnout, other attractions, traders etc, etc…. ???

I reckon about 13.30 for the air start, then cross feeding the engines for 10 minutes, then she might go for a little walk, if ATC permit.

Great – I was thinking of going to Wellesbourne tomorrow after a job in Stratford.
