I found this profile on CW Lam’s website. It’s from the Encyclopedia of Chinese Aircraft, and hardly a what-if publication.
Basically it appears to be a Vultee Vengeance in early communist Chinese colors.
It’s not likely that any of the SEAC Vultees made it to China, but still…there is a color profile in a very conservative publication.
Can anyone shed some light on this, or did the author and artist make a mistake?

I believe the earlier Vultee V-11 served in China but the aircraft shown in the book is the A-35 Vengeance and, as far as I am aware, that didn’t fly with the Chinese AF. Incidentally, what markings are on the aircraft in the book as I don’t recognise them?

I know Hindustan Aircraft Limited (HAL today in Banglaore) built some “Vultee” aircraft that went to China. I forget the actual make and model but certainly not the Vengeance

Is the text in this book in Chinese ? And what planes shows the photos, which are placed on page together with this “Vengeance” colour profile ?
