I know what W connectors are, they were used on WWII British wireless systems.
I have came across a piece of WWII test equipment, a VHF power meter that used W connectors as standard, but there was a WW option that used WW connectors instead.
Does anyone have any information on W or WW connectors?

A further couple of points – what does W (or WW) stand for, if anything, and who made them?

I’ve never come across any documentation on either series of connectors. W connectors were used perhaps more commonly on aircraft radar rather than radio systems. The range of connectors is fairly limited, so easy enough to understand. I suggest that WW connectors were fairly short-lived before Plessey connectors became the most common in Brtish aircraft equipment throughout the cold-war period. WW connectors were used on Gee-H equipment, as an example.
The table is one I compiled a while ago for W connectors.
