"W" Letter of the moment

According to the “Norwich collective”:) “Yo Bit-chin,but none of that round here:eek::confused:” this Thompsons 737 turned up out of the blue at Norwich bearing the latest”W” Reg from there fleet and with some quick cross reference check to the latest edition of a certain registration publication it wasn’t even listed.

Confirmation from an East Midlands spotter visitor, round this way doing a bit of tracking for another sort of transport confirmed its history of being only a couple of weeks old having been flown to East Midlands Airport straight from the Seattle plant via Shannon. So a mini scoop from the days observations along with a couple of photos because I like them, didn’t make the days efforts seem a waste.:) http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff428/lordjohn1/IMG_9711.jpghttp://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff428/lordjohn1/IMG_9697.jpghttp://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff428/lordjohn1/IMG_9685.jpghttp://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff428/lordjohn1/IMG_9682.jpg

Yes good observations Keith and by 738,as you can tell I’m not one for the doc’s side of life either:).So it may just pay to look into it as to why the tail is an ice blue shade a couple of tweeks away from the fuselage colour.I shall checkout some more Thompson photos on airliners.net to see what you were on about 738 with the winglet logos.
I’ve just been tracking the step daughters flight/UAE16 on flightradar24.com about 10 min’s before going into Dubai for an overnight stop. Its the first time I’d done this and its quite addictive when you know there is a personal connection involved with it.Thanks for good feedback..Cheers.JB:)

The tail colour is a different shade. Wonder why the other aircraft with winglets in the fleet dont get the TUI logo on the winglets ?

The Thomson tail has always been a different shade to the fuselage. I think the white is supposed to represent sand/beach, the darker blue of the fuselage the seas and the lighter blue of the tail the sky. Could be wrong. 😀

Nice photos JB ! …… I know nothing about paperwork or registrations 😉

One thing that has puzzeled me …. is the fin on the Thomson aircraft a different shade of blue to the fuselage ?? it shows on your photos, and on lots of mine …. sometimes, in difficult light, there seems to be difference between upper and lower fuselage ??

Keith.

My guess would be it was processed alot earlier than estimated and so has a CofA already.

Thanks EGTC it does appear a little confusing by the info given but someone will know whats accurate and not.Perhaps the time in weeks given between the dates may be an admin., period:).Either way it was a treat for the metal tube fans as I really am a whirlybird fan.Cheers..JB.

Nice catch!
I found this info on the CAA site..

CofA / Permit:EASA Certificate of Airworthiness, Validity Expiry:20/03/2012

Application Type Received Date Expected Date of Processing
C OF A ISSUE 12/01/2011 01/04/2011

I’m not sure what they mean of date of processing, if it already has a CofA until next year?
