Waco UPF-7 G-WACO

Hi Everyone,

A friend of mine bought G-WACO some months ago. He will be rebuilding it in the near future and we’re still looking for pictures of it from the time it was still active.

Can anyone help?

Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year

So you own an UPF-7?

Where is it based?

Could be Moraine Airpark, OH? 😉

Hi,

Enclosed few links to search for NC29903 history & pictures:

www.wacoairmuseum.org
www.aviation-history.com/waco

Otherwise, mine is the 29998 since 1990.
Good luck for the restoration of G-WACO.

Yes it indeed had an accident.

The pilot intended to make a go around, but the undercarriage hit the fence and the plane overturned.

G-WACO veered off the runway at Liverpool(Speke) and went through the perimeter fence in April 1989

Did it have a mishap since 1987, or is it simply due for some general titivation ? (of the rebuild type)

Woooowwwww.

One of my favourite aircraft. My school nickname was Waco and have carried it ever since !

I have some photo’s of G-WACO from Liverpool. I took them when I was doing my PPL there in the the late 80’s. It will take quite some time to find them but I could post them along if you give me the address.

Would love to hear much more about the aircraft.

All the very best !

Waco !

Mr Tipsy

I have a range of shots from different angles including rear view. I will post them, or if you pm me with your e-mail address I’ll send you e-copies when I can track down the slides. I can’t do that just now as we’ve suffered a bereavement and have more crucial things to deal with right now.
