Waddington 2012, Saturday

Despite an early downpour the weather Gods weren’t too unkind on Saturday, and it was another great show, especially for display team fans.
Firstly some from the static

Now to the flying, firstly the Tornado role demo. Very good for setting car alarms off, scaring small children, and ripping the moisture out of the sky!

We went on Sunday and despite the weather had a great day. The Korean team was superb, and I enjoyed them more than the Thunderbirds last year, who I was distinctly underwhelmed with. The Tornado demo was excellent, but we missed the Typhoon as it flew towards the start of the show.

We also found getting in and out to be totally painless – always a bonus!

Sorry Blue 2 I just thought it was a thread for Waddington photos. I can delete them if you wish

No worries, just might’ve been nice if you’d asked first! 🙂

Looks like you didn’t do much better than us weather-wise on the Sunday.

Some nice stuff there Tarkey, particularly the Koreans’ first burst.

But you might have asked before adding them to my thread old chap. Or even started your own thread… 🙂

Sunday

some of mine from a good Sunday

The highlight of the day was meeting up with Major MOSA AL FAIFI of the Saudi Hawks and watching as his guest, from the control tower the display of the Saudi Hawks. Thanks Faifi for a wonderful time, something I will always remember. Picture of me with Faifi after he had given all three of us ( Debbie and Gavin) a Saudi Hawks Pin to wear, THANKS ONCE AGAIN my friend

And now to the display teams. First the home team, the Reds

And the Saudi Hawks. Their display seemed somewhat lack-lustre, but I think this was due in part to who they were following…

http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz117/Blue2MGB/Waddington%202012/397.jpg
Finally, a close contender with the F18 for my favourite of the show, the welcome return of the Typhoon display!

…and then I ran out of memory card.
A brilliant show, well done to the organisers.
