God the more I get into airshow photography the harder it gets!

1st, I just wanted a DSLR
Then I wanted a zoom
Then I wanted a big zoom…with IS
So now I’m out there with my nice kit….
I need fast shutter speed to avoid lense shake, but I need wide aperture to let in enough light…ahh but not too wide because the DOF is too shallow and bits end up out of focus, and IQ drops off anyway at max aperture…I can bump up ISO but uuurgh it looks baaad ….and look the damn aircraft is underexposed but if I overcompensate then I blow the sky and ruin the background…I need to shoot in RAW to give me more PP possibilities but my God my CF cards are filling up like nobody’s business…oh another synchro pair failure…cripes look at those dust spots…bloody hell the wind is buffeting my lense…stupid Tannoy blocking my view…stupid head blocking my view…why do the aircraft only show topside once in a blue moon….corr look at the legs on her behind me – sh*t I’ve just missed the pyrotechnics……and don’t even get me started on piston engined jobs…I have to adjust my shutter speed depending on RPM, the IS isn’t enough….AAAArgh
Do you ever sometimes come to the conclusion that it’s best to put down your camera and just enjoy the airshow through your own eyes…
