Waddington Airshow 2004

Is it just me or does anyone else feel a bit “short changed” these days with regards to the content of Waddingtons flying display?
After consulting their web site, numerous cancellations appear of major items that have been advertised for months.
This is supposed to be the RAFs’ premier show, yet it seems to have one of the lowest compliments of foreign visitors (namly USA).
Why is it that every year, the flying display at RIAT is bursting to the seams with every conceivable type of aircraft, almost too many to display or see on one day, with traffic problems and poor access, yet, this “massive show” can only muster a few exotic types to display.
Is the UK not the USAs’ primary partner in the war against terror?
If so, surely it would pay to advertise that fact by increasing prescence on the uk airshow scene?
I live in the North of England and would like to see a more even distribution of displays accross the UK, otherwise, like this year RIAT is unreachable for me in one day, therefore costing me a fortune in fuel and accomadation on top of the nearlly £30 entry fee. (approx £175.00p so far for one day!)
Why can the RIAT not be rotated around the country every year, as it was during recent closures of Fairford, when it relocated to Cottesmore? giving a more even distribution of enjoyment to the British tax payer.
One last point on Waddington show–why are we not allowed to purchase in advance tickets for either day, as you can with RIAT?
This is poor when you have such things as weather to consider–usually choosing the best day to attend.
When looking for a contact us on the web site-suprise, suprise there isn’t one!
