Want to put your photographic skills to good use?

If there were any of the many excellent photographers on the forum who could spare the time to trek up to Old Warden on Tuesday next week, (31st July) it is likely a lady in her twenties, who won’t see her thirties will be going for a flight.

I’m sure her family would appreciate your expertise.

Yes, After my previous Op a couple of years back, I was asked to take part in a kidney function research into the effects of the drugs I take… so popped in to give blood samples… all 6 of them..

I was unfortunately at hospital that day, but I did put it on a photo forum I belong to in the hope someone could pop along.

Some images exist, basically just happy-snaps, but sufficient for her memory book.

It’s not my place to post them for privacy reasons I am sure you can understand?

Such a shame no one managed photographs, very glad to hear one of her dreams came true for her!

The facilitators were these people:

I am filled with admiration for what they do.

I will now sanction myself for drifting away from Historic Aviation 😉

Thank you Moggy…sort of puts things into perspective for those of us who might be inclined to moan about minor problems….

It went superbly, thank you.

The young lady had expressed a ‘bucket list’ wish to “fly a plane”. Her social workers reckoned this would be impossible, but were able to find an owner who would take her for a flight. When told she would be shown how to handle the controls (at a safe height) her face was a total picture. She did some cloud dancing over fluffy cumulus in the brilliant sunshine, flew hands-on the stick for a bit and then sat through some basic aerobatics as happy as a sandbag.

She won’t see Christmas apparently, but she has a fund memories she can hang on to briefly.
