Jetstream rebuild.
Hi Scott.
Youve got a job on! If you go into last years section of Historic Aviation and go to page 20, go to Aircraft cockpit sections and/or projects, page 12. Scan down and you will find an old codger in a Jetsream that he/I rebuilt. You’ve got a job on, I was lucky, although there were no floor or inner skinning, there were two seats thrown in and all the support framework for the panels was in place. The trouble is, you will have to find in excess of 60 instruments, plus numerous comms panels. I made all mine out of styrene sheet and transparencies. If you feel up to it I can take the drawings I used out of the aircrew manual and post them to you and if you decide to go ahead I can give measurements of the idividual instruments. It took me six months! You will have to make drawings of the instruments in black on white and then reverse them on the computer.

Regarding these parts we need – ALL parts are needed and required to help with the renovation of this cockpit no matter what other people say on this forum.
I would say people are trying to help. The J41 would be totally inappropriate for the T1/C-10 as it’s completely different from any preceding Jetstream variant.
That said, recreating the layout of the flightdeck accurately is hampered by the fact that the C-10A had TPE331-3 engines rather than the T.1/2’s Astazous, the 31’s -10’s and the 32’s -12’s.
Everett aero seem to be offering a fair few T.1’s recently so that may be a start with regrds to non engine specific items.. There are also a few T.1’s in scrapyards at the mo iirc.

Avrobaby – my post is not mean’t to be critical of any restoration efforts. It was merley mean’t to highlight the history to the wood and carboard relic. It is very unusual for such a relic to survive. I am pleased to see that it is to have some work done as I was the one that rescued it from Booker and had it shipped to Sunderland at no cost to the museum.
I am also sure that Lindy’s Lad also did not mean the comments to be critical.
It is good to see some constructive work being done at NEAM as it appears to have been pretty stagnant for the last ten years.

Also, a J41 interior would be completely inapropriate. If an authentic C10A fit can’t be sourced or manufactured, then consider a T1 as a last resort. It may be relagated to child’s toy, but it is still very important to get the details right.

Scott,
Your section may be made of wood but is nevertheless an important relic of the Jetstream programme.
It is the mock up of the USAF C-10A variant that was displayed at the Farnborough airshow before the order was cancelled.
By rights it should thefore be put into its USAF colours
