Wanted: owner / pilot wanted for flypast

On 12 July at Bletchley Park, there will be a gathering of wartime aircrew from the RAF, USAAF and Luftwaffe, organised by the Milton Keynes Aviation Society.

This event has really sparked off tremendous interest, and we already have six fantastic aircrew attending, including two very famous Luftwaffe aces (names released soon). One of the attendees has decribed this event as “the last chance to hear about wartime flying straight from the horses mouth, before we all reach the end of the runway.”

I would really love to put the icing on the cake with a late afternoon flypast before the main event starts in the evening. Of course an appropriate warbird would be brilliant, but the best quote we have for a Spitfire / Hurricane is around £2,000, and we are not a rich society.

So, is there anyone out there willing and able to do a flypast for us, in almost any sort of aeroplane, to salute the brave men who will be gathered there? We have some funds – very limited – so any expressions of interest will be eagerly awaited.

Many thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions. Any contact details for Peter Meyrick at all?

I’m sure that a T-6 would be available for less than that – Peter Meyrick has T-6G at Sywell….

12th July……….that’s 2 days after Legends, perhaps a word with TFC might be an idea for a bit of ‘you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours’ type of deal….. 😉

BBMF have done fly overs there before, have you tried them yet ?
I must get up to Bletchley Park sometime, I spent many weeks there many years ago on PO Telephone and Bt training courses. It will be nice to take a look in the huts that (in the 1970’s) were totally ‘out of bounds’ on pain of instant sacking if we even tried to peer the windows !
