Inspired by Datafuser, this is a thread on air forces that wanted a certain aircraft but could not get. so list them my burger buddies.

Israel AF: wanted A-6, US sold A-4’s instead
Israel AF: wanted Lavi, got more F-16s and F-15s instead
French Navy: wanted Jaguar M, got Super Retention instead
Royal AF: wanted F-14, got Tornado ADV instead
