Wanted: Wessex parts

The restoration of our Wessex HU.5 XT486 continues apace at Dumfries. We have 2 chaps on the job, John Langey and Joe Burns – Joe worked on the same airframe when in RN service!

I have been asked to hunt down a few external parts as listed below – all leads, help or suggestions gratefully received!

1. Rotor blade ‘saddle’ – the frame upon which the folded rotor blades sit upon the fuselage.

2. Any cockpit glazing – much of ours is very milky, some will clean up but some will not.

3. Aerial mounts – the blade type things which appear all over the airframe to support aerial wires.

4. The curved fairings at the very top of the tail which shroud the gears for the tail rotor – ours are both badly damaged and rotten.

Thanks!

I have a tail rotor blade gust lock assembly if that would be of any help. In ‘as new’ condition.

We have for disposal on behalf of a friend of ours a complete Wessex if you know anybody who wants one ?.
