Hello all. I am well aware of the Auster’s contribution to the L-bird war effort for the British, however, it does not see to have much of a following in the US and information and sources are VERY hard to come by. In my development of the the http://www.lbirds.com website I really would like to get some good information, or book leads. I would also REALLY like to get a good set of drawings (ie. that you could build a model out of) for one or more of the WWII Auster marks. A good set of drawings might lead to a nice little model being available…
Thanks,
Ryan

The Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop has a number of photo albums from the AOP Sqns that used the Auster. They can be very helpful (but not exactly speedy) with any enquiries/requests.

I’ve got some aircraft recognition silhouettes if you’re interested?
Approx 39 x 56 cm – training aides.
Anything like that would be useful…

Ok, so now I have a decent start on some drawings! Thanks! I am also looking for some pictures of WARTIME (WWII) images with some kind of text to go along with them that I could either have permission to use, or that are copyright free…
