This little gem, shown last night (May 1st UKTV C5) seems to have been overlooked by the forum. Did anyone catch it?
It is in the same vein as the Beebs ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ and featured Chris Tarrant researching his fathers Army service during WWII and Lisa Faulkner researching her grandfathers service in the RAF as a Rigger also during WWII.
I thought is was an excellent show and looking forward to the next one. It is currently available on ‘Demand 5’

It’s almost identical to something which I saw a while ago, My Family at War. Fairly interesting though talking about the Battle of Britain whilst showing a D-Day striped Typhoon belly landing wasn’t quite accurate! Worth watching just for Lisa Faulkner though…

Yes I thought it was good.So that was Retrotec where she did the riveting was it? I wondered where it was,couldn’t quite make out what it said on the chaps overalls.

I watched it too, parts of it were very moving indeed. Good programme.

Yes i saw it – worth watching again. Was Lisa Faulkner trying some riveting at Retrotec – and was that the Yak-1 in the background?
