Thanks for all the positive feedback! The silver single engine bird is an AT-6. I squeezed into the ball turret to get these shots. The SNJ is also there in formation. The guys from Tamiami Airport usually escort us in and it was a great photo op. I made this for our ground school entertainment coming up in January which will also feature video footage shot this year. Thanks again.

Nicely done, bravo.
The Sound track is “TIME” by the band “Pink Floyd”(it was shortened a bit. I think the original is about 7 minutes, album….”Dark Side of the Moon. A Classic as far as Rock goes. (I wore out my vinyl album years ago!)

Does a Danish Air Force C-47 dropping paratroopers at Karup in 1982 (its last year in active service) count?

I don’t know who took this one but i like.

Talking of West Malling, I have some video footage that display somewhere.
Looked at it while back and things that stickout are MH434 being given a High power run up and Mark Hanna taxing her from where she was parked during the display to the overnight parking area.
Also have footage of Hanna Senior & Junior dogfighting a Fiat 46 in the P40 & Spit respectively.
Cheers

of doing a thread for each year of the 80s and look forward to seeing what comes up,i will start it with 1980 itself, sadly have no pics though

Here’s a few from my collection. It might be a good idea to limit this thread in some way, otherwise if we all post a couple of photos it’s going to get very big very soon. How about doing it in year order, i.e. a thread on 1980 photos, then one on 1981 etc. or do it by type i.e. Swordfish on one thread, Hurricanes on another.
Anyway, I shall kick off with LS326/5A at Biggin Hill, 18/5/86, doing a good impression of a 10 poster bed.

Most of mine are at home in boxes in the loft, but I do have this one on my pc at work. Definately one of my favourite memories. I wonder if we’ll ever see a similar sight again…?

Somewhere in the Bradford archives!
Quite a few on slides as I recall, most notably Old Warden and the Duxford 1988 Spit display.
Plenty of Spits & Buchon’s in Piece Of Cake colours as I seem to remember. 😉
I’ll dig some out and scan them if you like.
Cheers
