I will be going to Canada in May this year for a holiday. As I am going to have some free time in the Montreal area while my Girlfriend attends a conference, I want to visit a few museums/collections within a couple of hours drive of Montreal. Can anyone make any suggestions? – Im particularly interested in flyers.
Im hoping to attend the CWH later on our trip and catch the airshow at Niagara on the 18-19th – where is the best place to see this from?

RE: warbirds in Canada
also canadian warplane heritage at Mount Hope, www.warplane.com will give you information and links.
Further afield is the Toronto Air & Space Museum and their is a Bushplane heritage museum (www.bushplane.com)
Over the border in Buffalo there are some aircraft in the naval park (www.buffalonavalpark.org)
If nothing else these websites should give you more links to plan from.

RE: warbirds in Canada
Richb, since nobody else’s replied …
I’m not sure if it fits your “within a couple of hours drive of Montreal” criterion (I haven’t actually been there myself); but there’s the highly-respected Canada Aviation Museum at Rockville, just outside Ottawa — http://www.aviation.nmstc.ca for a link.
I will admit to a particular interest in their collection, as a couple of their warbirds are ex-Indian Air Force.
Hope this helps. Regards,
Snoopy
