Warbirds Over Penrith?

My ex-girlfriend text me yesterday to say that her and her family had been overflown by a “Hurricane” (according to her cousin). Then, this morning, two more similar aircraft flew overhead.

The “Hurricane” was green with yellow markings, which to me doesn’t sound like any Hurricane flying in the UK.

Can anyone shed any light? I offered a war memorial dedication being overflown by the BBMF as a possible explanation, but I also told her that the vast majority of warbirds would be hibernating over the winter!

My guess would be Tucano too…

Had them over all the time when I lived in Abington.

Well, she did say they overflew Centre Parcs, so…?

(My ex has some connection with warbirds, by the way. Her granddad flew Spitfire MJ730 on a few sorties with 32 Squadron.)

You do get Tucanos on a regular basis round there. I think they must do practice bombing runs on Centre Parcs….

Some people would like ex-girlfriends straffed by a Hurricane !! I am going to take a wild guess that she saw a Yak !
