Wartime Crash At King Alfred's Tower Somerset.

Someone was making enquires about a German aircraft that crashed in world war two at King Alfred’s tower. I have the following iinformation which I hope you will find useful. My father ran Selwod Forest between 1961 – 1973, his trapper was Albert Lapham, who lived in Cox’s Lodge near the tower. In 1940 or 41 a dornier struck the spire of the tower and crashed close to the lodge causing damage to the lodge. I was born in Brewham in 1962 and remember as a child Albert pointing out the remains of the crater to me. My father also came across some wreckage in Kingswood warren and I had these pieces in my bedroom. One of these pieces had an identifcation plate attached. Sadly these pieces went missing in 1973 when my father was posted to Dartmoor forest.
I hope this is of interest
