Someone on Warbirdz.net.au is claiming a Spitfire under rebuild in Queensland at the Oakey museum has been potentially scrapped?
What I dont fully comprehend is that it seems this same person as I read online, has been working on this very Spitfire yet is asking people has it been scrapped?
Something doesnt make sense….

Maybe someone else can answer this person’s question for him?

I would say that the project has been scrapped not the Spitfire.

What does ‘potentially scrapped’ mean?
It is the Schrödinger’s cat of Spitfires.

Them too, of course! I hadn’t seen the Spitfire blog for quite some time, good stuff.
I’m particularly interested in 3D design, so I’m interested in your thoughts as to how you’d combine ‘tinbashing and printing’.

Uuumm how about sheet metal skills..Words we heard at start were “Pipe Dream”,”Could only be done in the Uk”..Plus fighting against people who had no idea on aircraft manufacture or restoration..

Thanks Ross. Your 3D design work is very impressive, and is evidence of how modern technology can assist the vintage aviation movement.

Actually I have not been involved with her for a couple of years Phil.A move and disagreements with management had caused me to move on.From a volunteer there that it is still alive, just being moved on from the Museum.
