A relative of Harry Houdini has called for the famous illusionist to be exhumed to determine if he was poisoned.
Murder rumours have persisted about the magician’s 1926 death, and great nephew George Hardeen says it’s about time they were investigated.
“His death shocked the entire nation, if not the world. Now, maybe it’s time to take a second look,” he told the Associated Press in New York.
He told the news agency a team of top forensic investigators could conduct new tests on Houdini’s body.
No autopsy was performed 81 years ago, although the accepted version of events is that Houdini died after a punch to the stomach ruptured his appendix.
However, there are suggestions he was killed by enemies after debunking their bogus claims of contact with the dead.

Guess if he was its too late to do anything about it. The potential murderer would almost certainly have passed away now too and surely there will be little evidence to prove who could have done it either on Houdini’s body or elsewhere.
