Waste of money

The question is simple: How many of the current systems either for air forces, army or navy were totally waste of money. They are useless in any potential threat or are even made to count an imaginery threat.

Please guys don’t focus only to US. Although they made some systems for enemies they are the only to see, they are not the only to spend money in useless equipment.

GarryB, be my guest, with a little help from the people around we will find a lot of toys like the ones that kids play with them 5 mins and then get bored.

Good examples that never reached operational stage were the Commanche and the artillery sytem Crusader but of there are many more that are operational.
