Kudos to the security folks (with an assist to the Pakistanis!) who caught the potential bombers at Heathrow today!! Way to be on the ball and stop another terrorist plot….could have really made a mess over here if they had gotten through, what with plotting to blow up 10 planes headed for the US…Well done!

If Grey Area wants to PM me his phone number I will call him and put the matter to rest. Anyway, as I have said before, my real name isn’t Allison Johnson but only a fool would put their real name on a public forum. I have only changed my surname and questions on gender are just ridiculous.
Ali
That won’t be necessary. I don’t care whether you’re male, female, unsure or undecided.
And neither should anyone else.

All I am trying too say is that its nice too have an intelligent lady on here. I would guess nearly everyone else is male, that’s all, please take it as a compliment from me. lastly it would seem a bit silly if I addressed a lady as such, but who was actually a man. I don’t wish too offend anyone. End of story, thankyou.

Allison “Ali” Johnson, I have it from a reliable sourse, that you are, in fact, Steve Carmicael from divetheworld.com. Why the surname, as you put it? Why a woman?
Who is this wierdo???? 🙁

Would some kind soul care to remind me what the point of this thread is?
It started off as “Way to go Britain” and turned into something else….
Hmmmmm… Not quite sure what though…..

Business as usual for this forum. Some drooler will find a way to make an anti-American slur by way of some story no one can verify.
So very true. Boring as hell.

I think you’ll find I am not as sucked in as you may think sir, being a free thinker has taught me a few lessons e.g. beware all is not what it seems. If you carefully follow my train of thought I am still assessing Allison, and waiting for a reaction. I can learn a lot from peoples comments, which makes this Website extremely fascinating. Beware all is not what it seems….
BEWARE MIND CONTROL… 🙂

Nothing unusual about that. Right back to the Vietnam draft-dodgers there have always been expatriate Americans who excuse their exile on the grounds of the President of the moment.
Was Nixon better?
Clinton and his intern-al affairs?
Regan – old fogey?
Etc, etc.
Bush is no worse and no better overall than any of them.
I like the American presidents, they remind me that however flawed the monarchy is, at least they have no power and we are excused presidents (not that anyone has told President Blair that)

You have a point there but you can’t blame anyone for getting out to escape being sent to a war they don’t agree with or don’t want to get involved in. I sometimes wonder if Presidents are elected in for public entertainment.

I have met a few Americans who are studying in the UK because they don’t want to live in the US under the government of George Bush.

My advice too the most powerfull Country in the World is be carefull who you antagonise. We all have too live together in this world as best we can, and being in a powerfull position such as the US puts you in a position of responsibility. Everyone is entitled too live the way they want, and shouldn’t be dictated too. Beware of stirring up the Hornets nest it could have far reaching consequences… 🙂

I’m I allowed to dispute your assumptions….or will I be banned if I disagree?
I strongly disagree with your assumption that I’m upset over the forum NOT being pro-US. I’ve criticized many things about the US and have avoided being jingoistic.
What I’ve commented on is the constant criticism of virtually all aspects of America. For example the idea that “Hollywood”: films somehow represent the opinions of all Americans the “gee there were no Brits in ‘Saving Private Ryan” therefore the US thinks it won the war by itself” …or even the statement above where a poster is kind enough to say while she likes Americans… “I do have a bit of a problem with their ” ‘we are the most powerful nation in the world and are going to prove it” attitude.’ ” I don’t recall anyone on this forum saying that. It seems all Americans are being judged by not only the U.S.’s history and now our President’s actions, but the perceptions of posters who may..or may not…know what they’re talking about.
It’s pretty obvious that movies that come out of Hollywood have an American bias and if you have another look at the thread where movies were being discussed the capture of the Enigma was mentioned and at no time did I hear HMS Boxer being mentioned. In the movie “Dogs of War” the main character, who was a Royal Marine in the book, was replaced by an ex US Special Forces guy and I’m sure if you looked hard enough you could build quite a list.
I have met a lot of Americans and have a lot of friends who are American and the beef I have is with American policy overseas and the words “most powerful nation” was used by another American on this forum. I have met a few Americans who are studying in the UK because they don’t want to live in the US under the government of George Bush as their trust level is zero.

You certainly are a deep thinker , you must be a very intelligent lady , and I mean that. Its nice too know there are people out there such as yourself that use your mind. I dont meet many such as yourself, and its a real pleasure too read your thoughts on here. after all we are thinkers in every sense of the word. Got too go , loooook at the time. 😮

It’s not a case of being a deep thinker at all. Sometimes I can be really scatty and intelligence? Never really understood why they fill IQ tests full of tests that can be bought in a book at WH Smiths. I think that alternative energy is something we have to look at seriously otherwise we will all be stuffed when the fossil fuels run out. Renewable energy is really the only way to go and as we all know fossil fuels are not renewable.

Further, there are some people on this board that are not what they represent themselves to be. In fact, not even the same gender as they represent…..too bad for those they already sucked in, too.
For example, did you know Allison (Ali) Johnson is really a man disguising himself as a woman; who knows why? What is being hidden?
Watch out when you are on the internet!
Gosh! You found me out! You are right, Allison Johnson is not my real name – it’s Ali G….! 😮 As for being female – well last time I looked down I seemed to have all the right bits in the right places and no, I am not posting photographic evidence! If you want that sort of thing you are visiting the wrong forum! 😀

You speak for yourself, Anna.
No I’d say she’s speaking for me as well. I don’t generally feel welcome here becuase I’m an American….
Honestly I don’t care what people think about me or my country, but it does leave an odd feeling when every other thread I read ends up being a “let’s talk about about America” contest……

Whilst some may have somewhat closed or at the very least, narrow minds, and seem to wallow in bashing the Yanks, please rest assured there are many more who chose not to participate is such criticisms and negative past times.
Phantom, a lot of us on this side are taking seriously what yours, and other nations did when they helped defend the island nation. Further, to bash any of them does a disservice to those of us who served.
