apologies if this is a bit late and o/t but there was a programme on 5 the other day (big, bigger, biggest, i think) and it claimed the an124 was the largest a/c. i think it carried a metro train to south east asia and it didn;t mention the 225 at all. i thought the 225 had this claim against its name?
If you watch the whole programme it was about the natural progression of cargo aircraft development and the 225 was mentioned at the end as the worlds largest aircraft as a development from the 124 for a specific need ie Buran transporter…

What was being moved and between which locations ?
It was a piece of power generation equipment from Hahn Germany to Yerevan in Armenia using the Antonov AN225:cool:
