Weather at your local Airport?

I was on the first KLM out of MME this morning….hellishly cold but snow thankfully stayed away.

Blackpool was closed all day

With most flights operating out of MAN! Isn’t LPL a bit more convenient a diversion airport than MAN when BLK is closed? I do know that FR9697 was a “planned” diversion as when that flight called Servisair MAN, there were told that, for once, passengers would be able to disembark immediately on arrival as coaches had been arranged and that the FR9698 passengers were being coached over.

EDI was chaotic to say the least this morning, things started happening about 0930. CO pax really took a beating, diverted to BFS, 4 hour delay, then once on the ground at EDI had to wait 30mins for a stand, took a few diversions from GLA, which at the time they probably couldn’t really cope with very well due to the delays, so that didn’t help matters…
To make things even better, the fire alarm went off, which mean hundreds of pax in one part of the departure lounge all had to trek outside! 😀

Currently, ONT (Ontario, CA) has temperatures of 8C with a wind chill of 6.6C and 50% chance of rain in the area and 3m/h winds from the north. Just 3 mi down the road near Chino airport, where I live, slightly warmer weather with 11C.

Apparently GLA is open, but they’re only accepting aircraft for which they have stands, not allowing holding on the ground due to snowbanks in the way….EDI’s queue is too long therefore not accepting much, so things are stuck with where to go (PIK the obvious one)

Glasgow is still not open – now due to open about 1630.
The runway is clear, but only one stand is open – this stand will be for the Emirates which is at Prestwick after being diverted there and is due to depart Prestwick any minute now.
Edinburgh has closed again for about 15 mins for further snow clearing – with 6 flights holding at the moment.

Yep, LBA is open at the moment, aircraft arriving with slight delays, the snow is still really falling!

Some of the departures have quite hefty delays though…, just typical the day the TCX 757 comes in is when this weather happens, not even I am going to go out in that!

Glkas was/is close. EDI open and operating with slight delay.

Hardly any snow at HUY. There is a slight delay on the Plovdiv ski flight as it has stopped at EDI on the way to HUY however

Belfast is rainy but ok. Huge storm last night with very high winds but just damp now.

Dull and dry at eglinton.

Durham Tees Valley fully operational and they’ve just carried out a grip test, which came out well I believe (all 0.7x). This might suggest that the snow is beginning to lay on the runway, it hasn’t so far

Liverpool Airport is again now snow closed.

Leeds/Bradford is fully operational at present again.

Glasgow is due to reopen at 14:30

Sun is shining, we’re in the 8 – 12 degree range, few puffy clouds – no wind, perfect conditions – it feels like summer down here at London City – i was amazed to think there is such a difference only a few hours drive away

At Gatwick it’s about 4deg. with some coulds, quite nippy but nothing like the Northern airports.

Was some snow on the ground here in Brum this morning but now it’s gone and has been a for a few hours, no major problems except with flights inbound from affected aiports and the flights going back.
