Weather report for Duxford today

For those of you who like me have’nt yet started the trek to DX, it’s looking very grim out there.
It’s 8:00 so the gates have just opened, assuming you can find them, I can’t see across the road from where I’m sitting.
Apparently by the time it’s cleared we’re going to be treated to showers, cloud and the odd sunny spell, temperature about 18C, with mist returning later.
Yesterday I was at the airfield about 1:00 and it was extremely warm and sunny, so much so that by the time I got home and cut the grass I had to put my shorts on, I don’t seem to have had much luck with airshows this year.
Incidentally, I was carrying out a tree survey yesterday morning at Haslingfield, a village a few miles north of DX. At about 12:00 I heard a low flying jet, presumably just taken off from Cambridge. As it flew right overhead I looked up expecting to see something average and was astonished to see an An-74 Coaler, white and blue colour scheme, he banked to the right and headed north.
The only time I’ve seen one of these before was at RIAT at Cottesmore, anybody have any info, are Marshalls doing work for Aeroflot now.
Better go and make me butties and find something warm to wear and test me fog lamps.

09:03 – location, just down the road from the old West Wratting aerodrome, about 9 miles north east of Duxford. Sun is burning off the morning mist over the fields at the back of the house. I reckon I’ll be able to mow the back lawn this afternoon – after I’ve finished painting the lounge. Might even get a few miles in on the bike – long sleeve USPS training jacket I think!

Just to confirm,i live 5 miles north of Cambridge,it is 08-30,fog is thick and no wind to clear it.
Yesterday i drove past Duxford and it was still hazy at about 13-00 even though the sun had been up for hours,i know it’s still early but no sign of the sun.
Hopefully it will clear but personally i was bitten at last the Sept display and will leave it nearer the time to make a decision.

There’s usually one of those in at Marshalls most Saturdays – parked next to the UPS freighter.
