It has come to my attention that I was the victim of a personal attack yesterday by one of the Moderators of this forum. The moderators comments were deleted by another moderator. This in itself indicates that the moderators comments towards me were deemed to be inappropriate at best. I alerted the Moderators and Webmaster to this fact and have as yet received no response.
Can the webmaster and moderating team reassure myself and other members that should we be victims of unprovoked personal attacks or insults from the moderating team that the moderator responsible will be censured in the same way as other members? Or is it the case that the code of conduct does not apply to the moderating team?

Everyone has missed the point – Ollie announced that he had been on the PlaneTalk forum. He may have seen the 5 page thread there, regarding his posts here . . .then the bun fight started.

Trying to be objective about this, I suspect that the original comment was down to misinterpretation and comments like that above really don’t help the situation, particularly froma Mod. Having met Kev on several occasions, he is not a person I would accuse of having an ego of any sort.

Congratulations to Flood for stopping the Thread and shame on the other two moderators who let it continue and even encouraged it!!
I believe i did ask very early on in that thread for a moderator.The response was (quote) “What needs moderating ?”
Although my plea was not so much to stop it there & then, but i had in mind that seeing it was an ‘Ollie Thread’ the potential to get out of hand was great, and sure enough, look what happened…….. 😮
It seems that any posts by Ollie, has us regular friends & forumites turning on each other like a pack of wolves.
So in answer to Flood’s comments about not stepping in for spelling mishtakes, that is fair comment & justified, but when it comes to people bickering, arguing etc…. then that is the time for ‘moderation’ i believe.
Perhaps some sort of vetting procedure ?
Any thoughts folks……..? :confused:

You won’t believe it, but just to chuck cold water on your ego it was not an ‘attack’ on you, and certainly not an ‘attack’ by a moderator since I was posting in the same capacity as you.

You know, there are an awful lot of bad spellers on this forum who have authored books, etc. In the past I posted questions asking if their editors worked full time on the corrections needed. You are not alone.Flood
It was not knowingly directed at anyone who had replied on that thread, and got a very offensive reply (which went unpunished other than being deleted) from someone who really should know better. The gist of my post was that his spelling is not a reason for him to give up his research, since there are others here who have mis-spelt in their posts here who have published in the past; if you believe you fall into this category then that is your conclusion, not mine.
I make this post on the forum, rather than by PM, just to show that nothing is hidden.
