Wednesday At…………. Liverpool

I fancied a bit of a change today…. 😀

Sorry about the reflections on some of the shots – it’s never ideal shooting into the sun through glass. 🙁

I’m told that’s just one Liverpool FC travel company too, and considering there are 20,000 tickets for Liverpool supporters, I’d think there will be a fair few more than this in the end.

Talking about Dungeon’s Lane, this was a photo that was shot the other week at LPL from that spot: http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/totallyflight/100_9464_1.JPG

Have you ever been to spot at the end of 06L at MAN grey? Me and few friends drove over there last month, at about 11pm… god knows why, we planned to spend the night in the pub… that soon changed!

This was the view we got:

That’s a sensible precaution, IMHO.

Liverpool has rather more scheduled traffic now than it had in 2001. 🙂

So if a 747 had to divert from MAN for example without LPL where would it most likley go?
BHX?? or LON? or neither lol

The 747s are known to come in occasionally – the problem was during the 2001 airlift the damage caused a bit of a backlog of delays after a 747 departure whilst the work team patche dup the bits, so the airport are apparently granting PPRs to operators bringing in aircraft of A330/A300/B767 size this time.

Diversions are slightly differant, and if a request was recieved early enough they would allow it in, if not it would go somewhere else – there is only 1 designated 747 stand at LPL, and on the good divert days you are more likely to see several E145/DHC8/JS41/A748 size aircraft as at a push you may b able to get five of these on it. If this is taken I doubt they would bring one in.

Sounds like a Celtic style mass exodus is on the cards for Liverpool regarding the European Cup Final? Should be a good time for local enthusiasts at both Liverpool and Manchester I’d have thought ?

I imagine you’ll be seeing quite a few European and Atlanta 747’s passing through in the days leading up to and after the match?

We’ve been through this one several times on all of the forums, airband1.

The general rule is that so long as they don’t contain graphics, don’t take up half the screen and aren’t offensive or provocative (to a reasonable person) in any way then people can put pretty well whatever they like in their signatures.

Some show more restraint than others. 🙂

Do you guys really need to have such bold signatures with your next flights on?

Can you please tone them down.

Thanks

Prestwick or Dublin would be possibilities, too. 🙂

A B767 can get around 3400NM off Liverpool’s 7500ft runway, assuming normal fuel burn and no obstacles, with PAX and baggage at 95KG.

Either a 757 or 767 could easily get from Liverpool to New York without a tech stop, so Istanbul will not be a problem. Liverpool however will not accept 747’s, as they have been known to damage the runway.

Hope that helps clear that up!

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks for that, EGNM. I do remember the stuff for the 2001 UEFA Cup Final, but Istanbul is quite a lot further away than Dortmund (as you’re well aware) so I would imagine fuel will be more of a consideration this time. We shall see. 🙂

Yes, Steve, it’s the Mersey.

Thanks for the comments, chaps. 🙂
