I recently found out a friend of mine had never flown before, and offerring to take him on a trip we found a decent £40 return fare from Luton on Easyjet. The flight was at the rather unsociable time of 0600, which meant checking in at 0400, and getting up at 0230 😡 We boarded G-EZJN through the newish international departure area which I had never used before, and within 35 minutes of flying time we landed on runway 06 at AMS, and taxiied swiftly to the gate.
I was hoping to get some arrival shots from the Kaagban, but we had not much money, and my friend was more interested in collecting numbers, so I was happy spotting and photographing from the excellent panorama terrace. Heat Haze was as ever a problem, ruining quite a few shots, but I still managed to get a substantial amount of others.

Very exciting to see this Air Pullmantur 742:

Can you see the landing Citation here?

Another treat, this time a Korean A330, my first time seeing one:

A bad shot, but still quite interesting to see the CSA A320, both of which were in today

Just pqssed bqck through AMS on the way home, a bit of a mare as the aircraft went tech and they ended up putting those they could on a Fokker 50 home (a first for me!) – always a great place to visit!

Excellent shots Mark, AMS still well on the top of my ‘to do’ list 🙂
Mine too if my finances will allow! Hopefully a trip before the Winter is possible.
Congratulations on producing some fine photographs. All are excellent! 🙂

Great shots! Shame you could not make it to the Kaagbaan. Maybe next time?
I hope so Peter. We departed from the Polderbaan, gives you a real sense of perspective of the size of the airfield when you taxi in a striaght line for 20 minutes across motorways, fields, dykes, more fields, another motorway, and finally onto the runway! :p

Onur Air was a surprise for us as we thought they were still banned

The Tower:

After passing airside we made the long walk to the end of one of the piers, where we were rewarded with comfy chairs, and a superb view of 4 taxiways and 2 runways!

We then boarded G-EZYH for the flight home. As the First Officer so succintly put it “Those of you on the right have a superb view of a magnificent romantic sunset. Those of you on the left have not” Needless to say we were on the right 😀
