WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================
Issued: 0930 Friday 10th February 2006
SATURDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack0a.gif)
High pressure over the north of Germany through Saturday. A cold front passing eastwards through Ireland and into the west of Scotland. A weak warm front from central Scotland to western Wales, this moving slowly eastwards.
A fair day for many southeast and eastern parts of the country with broken cloud and sunny spells. Rain will be passing into northern England through the morning and afternoon, most of it light and patchy. Scotland and Ireland will have heavy bursts of rain passing eastwards, this reaching Wales and northwest England in the afternoon, as well as the east of Scotland by evening. Drier weather should follow through Ireland, although heavy showers into the west of Scotland as the rain clears.
Winds will be S 5-10kt (F3-F4) over eastern England, SSW 18-25kt (F5-F6) through northwest England and Scotland, as well as Ireland and Wales ahead of the front, then becoming SW 12kt (F4) in Ireland.
SUNDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack1a.gif)
High pressure into central Germany through Sunday, with the ridge also extending through the south and east of England. An active series of fronts to the west and north, with the warm front from western Scotland to southwest England at midday. A moist southwest flow following the warm front.
For eastern England there is a risk of some patchy rain at first, this slowly clearing. Drier weather then follows for a time here, but cloud and rain already into Ireland, Wales, western England and Scotland will move eastwards through the day. Most of southeast England should stay dry, although outbreaks of rain elsewhere.
Visibility will be reduced over the coasts of Ireland, southwest England and Wales in low cloud and drizzle.
Winds will be SW 8-12kt (F3-F4) in England, SW 18-25kt (F6) through Ireland and western Scotland.
