Weight of first class

How much should first class weigh?

When 747 was designed, Trippe asked for windows in nosecone with forward view. He got the answer that this would require leaving two and half passengers behind.

Trippe gave up on that.

But many flat sleeper seats of first and business class weigh a lot. Motors, privacy walls, etc. etc.

Shouldn´t some airline decide that they do want those forward windows now?

Also Emirates has showers in first class. What does a shower weigh?

If you could choose either a first class ticket with a shower OR a first class ticket with direct forward view – not the size of cockpit windscreen, just the size of ordinary cabin window, but forward – which would you prefer?

Why doesn´t 787 have windowless fuselage sidewalls and screens mounted on walls?

Because unlike windows, passengers can’t open the screens to get fresh air.

Why doesn´t 787 have windowless fuselage sidewalls and screens mounted on walls?

Is that actually a serious question?

Cameras and screens may be common, but for some reasons 787 has windows in cabin. And not just windows but windows that are higher than those of any other jet (narrower but higher than those of DC-8). Why doesn´t 787 have windowless fuselage sidewalls and screens mounted on walls?

Forward-looking & downward-looking cameras, piped through to the seatback screens, are common nowadays. If first class want a bigger & better view, just give them bigger & better screens.

May I point out that nowadays, you have a radar there?

A forward vision is possible for everyone nowadays. as long as they have a camera fitted to the plane, and that they turn it on (which they always should, if you ask me … )
