How’s about this at SFO on 2/9/04?

This is my current favourite..a great a/c that took me to New York 3 weeks ago..

Aeroflot IL86. Think it’s boiler was being stoked at the time 😉

mine was in 2000 i was in a 737-200 of ba going to paris and we just got to the gate and next to our plane was concorde G-BOAA (pre accident). so that was one of the best for me.

Oh ok! Ive had that problem, its really annoying as well!!!

No that isnt it, thats a zoom in of the tail, this aircraft was so close didnt need a camera, wouldnt fit in the lense.

Hounestly the best aircraft i’ve seen is a Emirates B777-200 at BHX, it was so close to the window, i was sitting in Starbucks with my family waiting for our flight to Bulgaria with a BH Air A320 and then the EK 772 pulled up, got a great side on view! 😀

Concore seen thorugh the windows of T4 at Heathrow.

BA 747 JFK – China? Doubtful, BA only serve MAN and LHR from JFK.

Whilst walking through terminal 1 at LHR to catch my flight to Lisbon I caught sight of one of Cyprus Airways A330s. These were brand new at the time, and so caught my attention for longer than normal, during which time I manged to walk head first into a pillar. I’ve never been quite the same since 😉

Wow, some interesting things there. I have actually seen a couple of B747s at MAN waiting for my ryanair flight and when i was in britannia’s crew room overviewing T2 and I know why they are a good aircraft to see in that position!!!

I saw a BA 747 at JFK last year, it was going to China I think, and it was the biggest thing I have ever seem in the departure lounge.
However, I’ve seen closeups of SQ777, and various other large planes at MAN before, but none quite as good as the BA China plane.

Ryanair B732 “Jaguar” at STN. As some of you may know there are massive windows at STN so great photos as well. All pre-digi and at my parents home though so I can’t show off this time. 😉

Got to bee a bmi A330, was sooo jealous last month when i was wating to go to Zurich, i decided to take a trip down to the end of Peir C, and as i passed, they called for boarding of BD705! And ‘BB was sooo close! I could touch it!
Next Year tho i’ll be back on it!

What is your favourite aircraft/airline you’ve seen in a departure lounge while waiting for a flight? Mine was probably a Monarch A330 at Tenerife, now you think with my local being MAN im abit stupid, but it’s only because it looked so close and had a silver Nose-cone.

That’s easy! Waiting for my YYZ-GLA flight in 1998 we were waiting in the departure lounge and this Olympic B742 pulls onto it’s gate right up to the window by where I was sitting. My face = 😮 , sounds simple anough, but it just stunned me seeing this huge 747 come so close, then standing at the window watching the engines wind down, the jetway pull up and the pilots complete the remaining work needing done. It was partly what got my hooked on aviation. 😎 😀
