for 14 days!
As you probably already know from looking at my signature I’m off on holiday to the Dominican Republic with MyTravel on one of their A330s. First time for me travelling with MYT and on a A330.
Just wondering if anyone has ever travelled with them on their A330s and what they are like overall? Anyone be at MAN when I depart to get a pic? (10:40am 😉 ). Either way I’ll probably have some good pics by the time I get back.
So see you all later!

Have a great trip.
It’s been a while since I flew on their A330 (G-MLJL I believe), more than 3 years ago, but the inflight entertainment and two external cameras were pretty impressive, especially for takeoff and landing. As long as you can put up with the usual below-average legroom, then you’ll love it.
As for the Dominican Republic, that’s also great. I’ve been three times now. Where are you staying?

You will enjoy the MYT A330! Been on 3 out of the 4 of them, on 7 trips with them and have liked every flight!
The PTV’s are great, with a lot of choices – tv, radio, cameras, map, films……the cameras are great for taxi out/in and approach 🙂

i flew on G-OMYT to palma last year the mytravel a330 was big and had the air conditioning on and the ptv’s and the TV monitors had the camera under the plane on. we could chose from films – finding nemo, hunted mansion and along came Polly, also we had the moving map and the cameras as well as TV channels and radio. The downstairs toilets are good with comphy couches to sit on while waiting for the toilet although be careful when going to them as I and other passengers did not find the step below as the got smaller and fell down them.
have a good holiday 🙂

Took a trip on one in Airtours days (2002) from Manchester to Gran Canaria. As said it has PTV’s rolling map, external camera views and the downstairs toilet makes it feel like you’re on something much bigger. Enjoy the flights.

MyTravel A330 LGW-SFD
Took one from London Gatwick to Orlando Sandford (and back) at Easter – very nice, smooth, quiet etc though we had pre-booked the upgrade to Premium economy at the “sharp end”, so plenty of leg room, extra seat width, comfy seats, extra movie channels and plenty of free drinks. Economy class cabin looked rather cramped!
The live nose and belly camera feeds were good, though a little unnerving during arrival at SFD – after 30mins hold to wait for a violent storm to blow through Captain used intercom to tell us he was going to “give it a go” and the approach was made in strong gusts, so runway was moving about a fair amount. Still, the touchdown itself was good, though we had to wait for a while for our bags as the storm returned and they had to delay unloading baggage hold due to lightning strikes on the ramp…..
After that the flight back to LGW was pretty boring, though we were lucky enough to taxi to the stand by passing under the new north terminal bridge – a strange sensation to see a bridge passing overhead.

Flew on one in 2001 Tom.
Once you get over the cramped seats, you’ll love it. PTVs, pilot view and belly view cams. Downstairs loos are a novelty too.
And you’re on a 330, what more could you ask for? 🙂

A friend of mine travelled on one, he said it was wonderful, but he did pay for an upgrade to premium economy?
Enjoy your holiday
