Well timed fag break

Talk about good timing.
I just popped outside my workplace off London Wall in the City today at approx 12.55 and was greeted with a low and noisy pass right over my head by a VC10 escorted by two Tornados.
What the hell was that all about?

Flypast was in honour of the men who served in Coastal Command. Service held at Westminster.

They scrambled Janie to intercept Jerry at Angels 10? Chris’ll have to polish the wings AND scrub the gun barrels when he gets home now.

Apologies for the poor quality of the pic. Messed the setting on the camera up without realising it. 🙁

Pic taken as they flew over North Chelmsford.

VC10 or Nimrod?

This sounds remarkably like a Nimrod/Tornado flypast that took place over Westminster Abbey at 1255 today (16th), something to do with Coastal Command!

Tht’d be the noisy buggers who were circling over my head at work I guess. 10/10 cloud, so I couldn’t see them, but a mate said something about them had been on the news – and they were off to London.

My guess is the Tornados were German as there are two Luftwaffe flavoured ones at Brize today.
