I have recently completed research into the Wellington bomber that crashed on 9 January 1942 in Wythall, near Birmingham.
I have traced the surviving family of New Zealander Wilfred Burnham (aged 21) who is buried in a family grave in Sunderland.
I have extracts from his diary and log book leading up to the fateful day. The aircraft squadron identity was PH-T.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has any information relating to the British airmen who perished – Douglas Butterworth, Brian Franklin and Charles Morrey.
The 2 surviving Canadian airmen were Bud Cable and Bill Breck and I have traced their lives via the web.
The whole story has been written up I would be pleased to share it.

I have sent the Word document to the Air Crew Remembrance Society at their request. Regret I do not have the expertise to post the document on this website. Sorry!
