over the years a number of wellington tail units have been recovered from various hills. I know L7775’s (cairngorms)is in moreton in the marsh but what of DV718 from the Dales, I saw this on the moors as a youngster but have no idea as to its fate. I also assumed thatR1093 up in caithness has been considerably reduced by recoveries. I’d always assumed that it was old photos of this aircraft that were on the covers of the last two editions of Dave Smiths High ground wrecks books. can any one confirm this or cast any light on the fate of the tail units?
this has probably been covered before but I’m a newby to this so missed it!
