Maybe this should have gone in the garden gnome section?! Anyway, last year a fisherman pulled up a propeller from Caernarfon Bay. It was recently tracked by a friend to a scrap yard near Pwllheli but it turned out that the relic had been sold recently to someone who wanted it for a garden ornament. A pity because the Fort Perch Warplane Wreck Museum at New Brighton wanted it for display.
If it is a Mosquito prop, as we believe it is, it must have come from KB203 of No 1655 MTU which the accident report says ” came out of the cloud like a falling leaf. Cloud extended up to 26,000 feet and possibly pilot lost control in cloud.” Date was 11 Oct 1944. If we can track down the new owner, it would be appropriate to provide its history. (If he or she cares.) I have the crew names from Chorley’s HCU book, both bodies were recovered. Can anyone add any more, please.

Wasn’t 1655 MCU based at Warboys in Cambs? (where I live!) It was the training school for the Pathfinders.
