Wessex Panel Help Needed Please

All,

Please see the picture below, I am struggling with the instrument arrangement of my panel, at the top of the flying instruments there is a square hole I would assume for the square compass but this is already fitted on this type to the left. So were any Wessex panels fitted with square ASI?
Any help would be useful, pictures especially!

Simon

Mr P,

I have taken some photos, so if you PM me your address I’ll send you a CD.

The NAM panel (HC.2) seems to be laid out closer to your second panel, rather than the first.

Sadly no APs in the Archive! 🙁

Another one!

Re “my plan is to have it ready for Cockpitfest 2012, it will be a Tonka free zone for me this year!!”, then there will probably be two Wessex panels on display in 2012!!!!

Pully, the gauges I refer to are the ones missing on the RH panel, you also need a clock,slip-ball ,etc…best find a pic of a Wx 5 as the Navy always were different!!
and as you can see the LH Attitude indicator is different as well..
You could try `Pprune,Rotorheads ,`Wessex `thread and a PM request to `BASTON` as he`s ex Wx5..

I would think it is a HSI – Horizontal Situation Indicator….not seen ASIs in that location

Twin Otter,

I did get a couple of shots at the last aeroboot, Bill O let me have a look inside but any more would be great!

Si

Was it complete or not?

Also I’ll check whether there are any APs in the Archive!

Sycamore,

Thanks for the update, so the grey panel at the top already has a compass on the left a square hole in the middle and then a space for an altimeter

Bottom left is going to be a RADALT so the middle square is an ASI?

Thanks

Pully`s panel is a WX5; missing on the top is Tqmtr,ASI,Compass, and Altimeter.Probably missing is another RMI,like the one far top left, radar altimeter, and probably a `zero reader` homing indicator. You are also missing the engine compressor RPM gauges ,and PTIT gauges. WX 2 and 5 panels are similar, but Navy have the Attitude roll index at the top ,Air force index at bottom. Also WX5 has fuel-tank air press gauges next to fuel gauges. Do not mix instruments from WX 1 and 3 with WX 2/5….(or a 4)

I can try and access / photograph XV728, the HC.2 at Newark tomorrow morning – but I’m not sure how complete the panel is though!?!
