Western operators: Eastern Aircraft

I’m curious as to how many western world airlines operated Soviet/Russian/Eastern European types.

Two that come to my mind are HeavyLift and that South American Airline that operated TU-154’s

Indeed there was. They were called Aertirrena.

The type had a West German C of A, too. A couple were used by an air taxi operator, if I recall correctly.

The German airline was called General Air.

Manx2 here in the UK operate quite a few Let-410’s, along with the Danish cargo outfit Ben Air.

There are hundreds of Eastern types operating in South America, mainly smaller types like the AN-24/26/32 family. However, Cubana operates the IL-96 and TU-204.
