Westland Wessex seeks new home

If anyone has the space and the interest in a Westland Wessex helicopter then you may be interested in the fact one is for disposal.I understand the owner a friend of mine may consider a PX or swap for a good condition side by side trainer like a JP of equivalent value.

Externally its very good the cockpit is a bit bare but structure inside appears good.

PM with your interest and I will put you in touch with the owner.

Thank you, considering the amount of time I spend on the net you could be forgiven for assuming I would have thought to google it.

Development of the Westminster was cancelled and both protoypes scrapped.

Google is there for the curious 😉

Have only just spotted this thread and it prompted me to ask: Does a complete Westminster airframe still exist? It seems to be a type that never sold many machines. In fact I can’t recall ever seeing one on the ground let alone in flight. Did anyone ever buy them?

Wessex

Hi Mike,
I’m restoring one myself but having a nightmare getting a couple parts for it. Does your friend happen to have spare main wheel tyres for his wessex by any chance (11.0-12) or light fittings?
Many thanks,
James
