Wet runway at Stockholm-Arlanda – 4 pics

Took my camera out in the rain this evening as there was a unique first-time visitor at Stockholm-Arlanda: Air Caraรฏbes A330 F-OPFP! Sweden got a double dose of Air Caraรฏbes today, as a second aircraft landed at Gothenburg in connection with a UEFA Cup Final (40-50 incoming charters from Valencia in one day…).

As it was raining and runway 01R was in use for landings, which doesn’t happen very often, I took the opportunity to try my luck with some wet runway shots. Traffic wasn’t that impressive though, but I’m quite satisfied with the photos;

MyTravel’s A330-300 OY-VKG, still wearing Premiair colours, reversing…

…and a great angle for snapping these kind of activities shown here.

After Large there was Little, with a Skyways Saab 340 touching down…

Tomorrow I’m going to Amsterdam for the LHS Zomerfeest, hoping I’ll get some nice photos from Schiphol to show!

Have a nice weekend

No, Air Cariabes bought* two A330-200’s from Swiss last year while LX were downsizing their fleet.

Thanks for that Bhoy. Where is Air Caraibes based? I know their turboprops make appearances at SXM.

Does Air Caraibes have a deal with someone that operates that A330 for them, similarly to the way Air Holland operated that 767 for Air Curacao?

*or maybe it was leased? well, acquired, anyway

Great shots, particularly like the 330 kicking up some water! Wet weather can have it’s advantages, but often makes it too dark to shoot unless it’s a very quick shower!

They are very good looking, unlike the aircraft wearing the new Novair livery…

Cool shots! Well done. I’m not a huge fan of the A330 but you have got some fantastic photos of it there. I do agree that the MYT interim livery is awful though.

Wonder if the Scandinavian MyT A330s ever will get repainted, it’s been almost three years since the namechange and they still look awful with that hybrid livery.

Most A320s are now repainted, though, and of course the new A321s. They are very good looking, unlike the aircraft wearing the new Novair livery…

Great pics and lucky you to get all that extra Uefa cup action. The My Travel livery is bland as suggested. It is an interim livery though, the full My livery will look much better if the A330’s stay with the company long enough to see it ?

Nice pics! The last time I was visiting ARN was courtesy of a Scanair DC8-63 STN-ARN and a Transwede MD83 for the return ARN-STN the same evening.

Don’t tease me… ๐Ÿ˜‰
