This Sea Prince had the nose paint stripped right back to the bare metal. It has now been repainted and the markings will be re-applied shortly.

With its several undercoats and modern top coat it looks like new again, an excellent job by Dave, one of our engineering team. The modern paint will ensure it stays looking as good for many years.

Thanks for video link Propstrike, the landing looked a bit bumpy. Thanks for sharing the photos J31/32. The Sea Prince’s look in very good condition and beautiful paint work. Looking forward to meeting the team. 🙂

Had a fantastic time at the museum. The lads there are top blokes.

Wow! Was unaware that the museum has a strip, thanks for posting.

here is a neat video of a light a/c flying into the museum, coming in right over the centre of Gatwick, and lobbing into the grass strip, stopping between the Shackletons.
Quite amazing they still allow it 🙂

Looking forward to seeing both Sea Prince’s in a couple of months time when I visit the museum. 🙂

Yeah, we do still run the “other” Sea Prince WP308 (572) although we haven’t run her for about a year. From our point of view the Prince is a “cheap” runner. She positively sips AVGAS compared to the Shack. Mind you the oil consumption is about the same as the fuel!
Last time we ran 572 the port engine was running OK but it was vibrating quite a lot.
We need to get some time to sort that out, shouldn’t take too long.

Excellent news, do you still ground run any of the Sea Princes?

Nice work! Is it red, cherry red, post office red or misread dayglo though?
(I’ll get me coat)

I think the Sea Princes at the Gatwick museum have always been well cared for and have always looked good on each visit I have made, unlike the Whirlwind behind that looks like it needs attention. Well done Peter – must be time for another visit!
