Tony, The Met Office has been in touch today, asking to let them know when I have replaced the seaweed, as they are waiting with baited breath, as they cannot broadcast the Weather, until I am up and running again….:D.
The Coastguards have reported a Fencing Panel floating in the North Sea, and have issued a “Danger to Shipping” order, Salvage experts are on their way as I write, to find and dispose of it.

Hang on, just had a phone call from the Fuzz, it’s on it’s way back with several folks from the E.U. paddling like mad, to make it to Sutton Bridge Port Authorities, Will keep you updated.:o

All that from a bit of seaweed on the washing line? Don’t forget with fence panels down it will be inaccurate due to wind flow patterns… 🙂

As for the missing panel, get the police to check the pawnbrokers etc around the local area, someone might have tried to fence it :p

At least we had a good Summer this year.
As for Winter all they need to say is, “Rain in places, some snow on the high grounds, Windy upt North, bright patches in the South. But if the Jet Stream turns….This forecast may be wrong.
There, I have now predicted this Winters weather……:o

And every year dowses our hopes for a good summer, just on the off chance that they will be right whilst predicting good weather with only a few days notice so that we feel good about them.

I believe that the storm of 1987, complete with the infamous Michael Fish denial, and various other miscalls since have made the Met Office rather eager to make sure that the remotest chance of a damaging weather event gets the fullest publicity.

It also applies to the warnings on snow

I agree with what has been said about it being over egged, and had it not been for the fatalities I would now have been doing much in the way of mocking soft Southerners! We’d just call that a reasonable Yorkshire Autumn… :p

Good to have your support, Blue, but to be honest, apart from those who did suffer seriously, not least the mercifully few fatalities, it was a bit of a damp squib. We have certainly experienced similar winds here in the more recent past and no doubt will over the coming weeks, as that’s what we expect in the Autumn/early Winter months.:)

Word has it that 70mph winds tore through the Northfield area of Birmingham overnight and caused £30m worth of improvements!

Good time to be a tree surgeon in the south it seems… And I hear they’ve given for more of the same next week.

Definitely on the books again next week Graham. Just hope I don’t have to make another claim,, as I have several large trees in the garden.
