RE: What a fortnight for the
Agree with all the comments about low costs. A friend flew on MyTravel Lite the other day and said it was half empty.
The thing about low costs is that they get most of their sales direct, like on their website. They need to be very well recognised quick, which means a big advertising campaign. I think the whole idea of easyjet being on airline (the TV progrmme) was absolutely brilliant, even though there is some (well quite a lot) of bad press, they are probably rivalling BA as the best known airline in the country, every one knows easyjet!
Its easier if your working from another airline such as bmibaby, but any new start-ups will find it very difficult and I don’t think it will be long before the bubble bursts!

Well look at bmi baby – it had the funding for bmi mainline – JET 2 has channex behind it at LBA an airport that has been crying out for a loco – and there we have 1- an untapped market with the financial backing

Saab
Isnt that what normally happens to anything thats new and successful, every Tom ##### and Harry gets in on the act until the wagon gets top heavy and then, crash!!!(remember Debonair?) the only ones left are those that started it in the first place, probably with big smug grins on their faces.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-10-02 AT 08:30 AM (GMT)]Coventry is a crazy idea. With MYT Lite at BHX,GO and bmibaby at EMA, is there a market for an expansion of Coventry?Anyone remember Sheffield?
Personally i’m sick of all these low cost airlines coming around. Ryanair, bmibaby,Easyjet are all good but come on, every single airline coming around is jumping on the low fares bandwagon and quite honestly I don’t think many of them will be around in 10 years time.
